How to change your Roblox email: messages, missing mail and result checks

Check the intended profile and current password, replace the address in official settings, and distinguish the new inbox instructions from the old inbox alert. Choose the appropriate route when a message or your former mailbox is unavailable.

Updated:

1. Decide whether you need to replace, add or verify email #

Replacing an existing address, adding a first contact and verifying an address already shown are different tasks. Begin with Account Info in the intended account. Is an address present, what state is available, and what outcome do you need? Use our email verification guide if no address has been added. This article follows replacement of a contact already listed. It does not move games, items or purchases between family profiles. With multiple accounts, read the exact @username rather than relying on an avatar or a familiar display name.

For a teaching example, call the intended profile Player, the former inbox Old and the future inbox New. These are roles, not real account details. The goal is to read the chosen New address in Player's settings and inspect its available verification state after the process. Avoid combining several unrelated changes while solving one ordinary contact problem. “New selected” is not “email replaced.” A separate record of each step matters on a shared computer, where another tab may belong to a different account even though both pages look familiar.

2. Prepare the new inbox and assess account access #

Open New through your email provider's official service and make sure you can read messages. Roblox recommends your own or a parent's email. Using an address supplied by a helper gives that person a route to account recovery messages. Agree on the intended contact with a parent where appropriate. You can check the complete address privately without posting it in comments or showing it beside a confirmation link. For a short personal worksheet, mailbox roles and the observation “New opens” are enough to track preparation.

Check the Roblox password separately. The official change requires your current account password, not the password for New. Remaining signed in and knowing that password are different conditions; a saved session does not establish that you can complete the form. Use the related password recovery guide if you have forgotten it. Record access to Old as a separate observation instead of treating it as access to New. Before deliberately leaving your only working session, understand which official sign-in and recovery options are actually available. A guess is not a completed access check.

3. Use Update Email in the official account settings #

While signed into the intended account, open Settings, Account Info and Update Email. The help describes the gear icon on the website and More with three dots in mobile apps. Read the current action rather than depending only on an icon's shape: it must update email for the intended profile. The official form asks for the chosen new address and your current Roblox password. Our website does not carry out this change or collect that password. Do not enter your mailbox password in the Roblox account password field.

Before submitting, check every relevant part of the new address, including its domain. Read any autofill result because a familiar address may belong to another family member. Make one deliberate request and record its time and the page's response. Preserve the exact text if an error appears. That observation is more useful than assuming the button is broken. Form submission does not prove delivery, and a changed page does not replace inspecting the account afterwards. If the official flow presents another protection check, follow its actual instructions instead of substituting a guessed workaround.

4. Find the instructions in the new mailbox #

The official email-change article sends the message to the new address. Open New and compare the message with the time of your request. Read its purpose: you expect instructions for the address change or confirmation, not another profile's password reset. In the family example, Old and New might be open beside each other; reading the mailbox label prevents confusion. Follow the expected message's current instructions through the official process you initiated. Keep any secret link out of public notes and do not forward it to a person offering unofficial assistance.

If nothing arrives, check that the correct inbox is open and the entered address is accurate, then inspect spam or junk. The general email verification help suggests checking those folders after a few minutes; if the issue remains, it suggests adding email_validate@roblox.com to contacts and trying again. This is verification-message advice, not a delivery guarantee for every Roblox notification. Do not turn off filtering to repeat the request. Record a new attempt separately and read the form's response. An actual error or missing message must remain an unresolved observation rather than becoming a success marker.

5. Separate the old-address alert from the new instructions #

Roblox explains that the previous email receives a security alert after a change. Following your own replacement, that alert is expected. It belongs to Old's role: reporting a change. Instructions delivered to New serve a different part of the process. Compare the account and timing rather than judging solely by the subject. Reading Old's alert does not replace carrying out New's instructions and checking Account Info. If you cannot open Old, do not invent the contents of its message or record delivery as something you verified.

If you did not initiate the replacement, stop treating the incident as an ordinary planned contact change. Open Roblox independently and inspect whether the intended profile remains accessible and what it actually displays. One unexpected email does not establish the cause, but it warrants a separate investigation. Our hacked-account guide covers the official device-safety, recovery and support route. Do not enter a new password through an unfamiliar urgent offer or approve someone else's login attempt. Record the observed changes, keeping the outcome unknown until you have evidence that the relevant account state is understood.

6. Return to the intended profile and read the outcome #

After following the expected email instructions, open Player's Account Info again. Read the displayed address and the state available in the current interface. Check @username again if you switched accounts between steps. The table separates selecting a contact, sending a request, completing the message instructions and reading the resulting profile state. Do not invent a universal verification icon; presentation depends on context and language. Write what is visible now. If Old remains displayed or the state is unclear, investigate instead of declaring completion from memory.

A teaching record could say: “Player; New reachable; request sent at the recorded time; New's instructions completed; Account Info displays the observed state.” Fill a real record only with your observations. If the email merely arrived, leave completing its instructions as a separate unfinished stage. Note Old's alert separately if you actually read it. Changing contact does not assess all sign-in methods or device security. Establish this action's outcome first, then prepare any further check you need. Do not deliberately remove the last accessible session just to turn a worksheet into an imagined proof of successful recovery.

7. Identify what is missing when the former inbox is unavailable #

Separate three situations: Old cannot be opened, the current password is unknown, or the intended profile cannot be accessed at all. They have different starting points. If you are signed in and know the current password, compare your situation with the current official Update Email form and its response. This guide does not promise that losing Old removes additional protection checks. If the password is unknown, use account recovery. Standard reset depends on an already associated contact; creating New today does not retroactively make it the former contact of a lost profile.

Losing your primary 2SV method is another condition. Replacing contact does not prove that all codes or backup methods are now available. The official guidance requires two different verification methods in account details to recover access after loss of the primary 2SV method. Read our related guide and do not disable protection to get around an unclear screen. Use Roblox Support when access is lost or self-service does not help. Describe available methods and unknown conditions honestly. Purchasing another mailbox or trusting an intermediary's promise does not substitute for proving account ownership through the official process.

8. Prepare a concise support description #

Collect the intended username, device, time with timezone, action taken and exact response. Separate account access, knowledge of the current password and access to each mailbox; the passwords themselves do not belong in the report. A hypothetical structure is: “The profile opens; New can be read; Update Email displayed sending; the expected message was not found after checking spam.” Another is: “New's instructions were completed, but the previous address remains displayed in the intended profile.” These examples organize evidence and do not describe a test performed on your account.

Provide necessary details through official support and read the specific request for ownership evidence. After suspected unauthorized replacement, the original email can help Roblox assess ownership, but does not guarantee recovery. Keep complete messages, confirmation links, codes, cookies and payment details out of public posts. Save the case reference and genuinely new observations in a private chronology. Distinguish submission from the outcome: receipt of a request does not mean the contact was repaired. This guide helps choose a route and describe a state; verify the final result in the actual intended profile.
