Roblox asks for an update but iPhone App Store says Open: checking the loop

Check App Updates through the store account, distinguish a button from a completed installation and record what Roblox does next. A focused route without deleting your account or using cache cleaners.

Updated:

Confirm the two screens in the update loop #

This specific loop begins when Roblox asks to update and sends you to the App Store, but the store offers Open. Opening the app produces the same update request again. Roblox describes this sequence separately from a crash after joining, memory warning 292 or a missing connection. Record both sides: the Roblox message and the store's actual state. If the store already shows a download or a billing notice, that is a different observation. Choosing a useful check begins with the visible screen, rather than treating every failure as the same broken-app problem.

Keep a starting note with your device model, known iOS or iPadOS version, time, Roblox message and store button. A fictional example is “iPhone; Roblox requests an update; store page says Open; returning repeats the request.” Replace it with your own facts. Exclude Apple Account details, private conversations and payment information from public screenshots. Do not delete anything yet: the ordinary update route can be checked first. Installing an application and signing into a game profile are separate tasks. Deleting your Roblox account is not an app-update procedure and would not be a sensible response to this observation.

Open App Updates through the store account #

Open the App Store directly. Apple's current instructions say to select the account button or photo at the top, then App Updates. If Roblox has an Update option, choose that app's update. This checks the store's update list instead of repeatedly selecting Open on the same product page. Labels may be translated or differ between system versions; follow your store profile and available update list. Do not sign out of your Apple Account or change its country simply to reveal an imagined button. Those are separate account actions, not established steps for this diagnostic comparison.

Write down the actual result: Roblox appears in the list, an update is offered, a download started, or no update is shown. A missing entry alone does not prove the required version is installed; it is the result of inspecting the store. If you selected an update, wait for completion and inspect the outcome. One tap does not establish a finished download. To preserve a clear comparison, you need not update every other app at the same time. This route checks Roblox specifically and does not promise a faster phone overall. The first diagram separates the observations worth keeping.

Reopen the store when it is unresponsive #

Roblox's loop article suggests closing and reopening the App Store. Apple describes force-closing as a step for an app that is unresponsive. If the store is frozen, use your model's app switcher: on newer iPhones, swipe up and pause, locate the store preview, then swipe it upward. On models with a Home button, double-click that button to open the switcher. For iPad, follow Apple's separate iPad instructions. Reopen the store and inspect App Updates again, retaining the starting note. We did not perform this action on your phone or measure a resulting change.

The older Roblox page also mentions ten taps on a bottom store navigation icon, naming older store sections. That is not a universal current cache-clear button on every iOS version. Do not hunt for a missing section or replace it with random taps. For the current interface, use Apple's verified account-and-updates route. Avoid third-party cache cleaners and do not wipe device data. If the store responds but still offers no update, record exactly that. Reopening is an attempted step; it does not by itself establish that Roblox was updated or that its next launch will succeed.

Distinguish a stalled download from Roblox's request #

If the store starts downloading but does not complete, the problem has moved to update delivery. Apple suggests prioritizing an available download by holding the app on the Home Screen and choosing Prioritize Download, and restarting the device before checking again. Use only an option your system actually offers. Save work before a restart, then compare the download's state, not merely the continued presence of an icon. Do not remove unrelated apps or photos at random. For a concrete store message, keep its wording and follow the corresponding Apple help instead of opening Roblox repeatedly.

Apple separately discusses verification and previous-purchase billing messages. Such a message does not establish a need to buy Robux to update Roblox. Do not enter payment details through links sent by strangers or pay for an alleged update-unlock service. Involve the Apple Account owner or a parent and use official Apple assistance. Some prompts depend on the account and region; this guide cannot promise they will not occur. The table distinguishes “not offered,” “download started” and “store requests another action.” Those are different outcomes even though none yet establishes that you can join the desired experience.

Check the new launch and future automatic updates #

After a completed update, launch Roblox normally and see whether the request repeats. Record app opening, access to your intended profile and loading a chosen experience separately. The store's Open button alone does not prove the loop disappeared; only the next observed launch tests that. If it remains, record old and new screens without inventing an installed version number. Add the version only if you can actually find it; otherwise mark it unknown. If another error replaces the loop, preserve that wording and switch to its relevant help route rather than labeling everything an update failure.

For future updates, Apple identifies Settings, Apps, App Store, App Updates. Choose the state deliberately for your own device. It controls future updating and does not guarantee immediate repair of an existing loop. One switch also does not establish compatibility with every experience. A fictional result note is “Update completed through store list; Roblox no longer returns to the store; own profile opened; experience not tested.” That is more useful than “everything fixed” when the final step has not been performed. Keep what you observed and what remains unchecked separate, so a later attempt starts from accurate information.

Send the remaining problem to the right support #

When the store cannot finish downloading or shows its own error, prepare Apple support details: device, system version, download state and exact message. If updating completed but Roblox still repeats its request, prepare the corresponding observations for Roblox Support. Do not create duplicate requests after every tap. Keep one sequence with time and outcomes: what the store offered, what you did and what the app displayed afterward. Passwords, verification codes and complete payment documents do not belong in a public problem report. Official support can request any additional relevant information through its own channel separately.

Our images are original teaching diagrams, not screenshots from a real iPhone; no actual Roblox update was performed while writing. End your note with the observed state: no offered update, stalled delivery, repeated loop or loop absent in this attempt. Do not promise one outcome for every model or a fixed store recovery deadline. When it works, save a brief dated result for future comparison. Otherwise, submit the exact unresolved stage. Do not substitute deleting your game profile for checking the app: an update problem is not evidence that the Roblox account itself should be removed from the service.
