Roblox account banned: prepare an appeal from your moderation notice

Separate platform moderation from a ban in one game, choose the official appeal route, and prepare a clear account or content explanation.

Updated:

Locate the moderation notice #

First identify what is restricted: your Roblox account, an uploaded asset or access to one game. Keep the notice, decision date and stated reason. For an asset, record its link and Asset ID if known. A connection error and a moderation notice are different starting documents. Do not choose a support route from the word 'ban' in another player's story.

If a creator barred you from a particular experience, use our separate code 267 guide and available creator help. This article concerns a review of Roblox platform moderation. If you cannot log in and suspect account theft, start with the recovery guide. An appeal should address an identified decision rather than replace every kind of support request.

Use the route in your notice #

Read the appeal option offered in your own notification. Eligible categories may provide a direct link to Violations & Appeals. Follow that link from the official notice and find the corresponding decision. If the violation is not listed there, or the notice directs you to support, use the official Roblox Support form. This guide does not promise one universal button in the same position on every device.

Before writing, match the account and decision: username, date, asset or action. If several entries appear, do not attach an explanation to the first at random. Record which decision and route you selected. Roblox Guidebook helps organize the information; it does not accept appeals, access accounts for their owners or send a statement on your behalf.

Prepare the right identifiers #

For an account appeal, prepare your username and a brief reason for requesting review. A content appeal also needs the Asset ID and a link to the object on Roblox. Username is different from Display Name: use the exact account name. Find an unknown ID on the relevant asset page rather than substituting a number from a similar card.

Draft four short parts: decision, object, explanation and request for review. Identify the specific part you believe needs another assessment and the circumstances relevant to it. Unrelated events make matching the explanation to the decision harder. Use the table to check your draft. Do not invent details to complete a field: 'not yet established' is better than an inaccurate identifier or date.

Separate facts from assumptions #

Explain what you can connect to the notice: your upload, the selected asset and why you think the stated reason merits review. An assumption about another person's report is not an established fact. If you include an image, explain which part concerns the moderated object. Extra screenshots unrelated to the decision do not make the explanation clearer.

An invented draft structure is: 'Please review the decision dated [date] concerning [link and ID]. The notice states [reason]. I believe reassessment is needed because [specific explanation]. I include [relevant evidence].' Replace brackets with your own facts. This is a suggested structure, not an official form or a promise that the decision will change. Its purpose is to make the object and reasoning understandable.

Check timing and who may appeal #

Roblox help gives the ordinary appeal period as 30 days after the moderation action, with a separate six-month period for EU users to appeal an initial action. Check the current official guidance and your notification. An interface language does not establish which regional rule applies to an account. The same help page describes additional regional rights separately.

The account owner should appeal using a valid email address for that account. Do not buy an 'unban' from someone asking for your login. Record the action date and draft date separately from the asset's upload date. If timing is unclear, ask official support a specific question. Our organizational example does not determine your individual legal position or replace the current terms of the appeal process.

Review the draft before submitting #

Compare the draft with the selected decision again: correct username, exact link, intended Asset ID and a relevant explanation. Remove passwords, cookies, verification codes and other people's private information. Crop unrelated conversations from screenshots while keeping the necessary context readable. The reviewer should not have to guess which object each attachment describes.

In Violations & Appeals, use the available Appeal option for the relevant entry and its explanation fields. In the Support form, follow the current fields and selected help topic. The account owner submits on the official page. Keep any confirmation or reference number shown, along with your own text. This distinguishes a prepared draft from a message that was actually sent.

Follow the response for that decision #

Violations & Appeals lets you monitor an asset's status; for a support request, keep the corresponding response and check its communication channel. No response yet is not a completed review. Submission confirmation establishes that a request was submitted, not that a restriction was removed. Track three separate states in your own notes: prepared, submitted and result received.

Roblox help says a reviewed moderation action is not reviewed again and duplicate appeals are not considered. Do not create repeated identical requests to try to accelerate a response. If support asks for relevant clarification, reply in the corresponding case. Identify a new decision with a different date or object separately before treating it as part of the earlier record.

Record the actual outcome #

An appeal does not guarantee removal of a consequence or restoration of content. Keep the final response and inspect the stated account or asset status. Entry into one game does not establish that every uploaded object was restored. If the decision remains, record that outcome rather than relying on a promise of an automatic unban.

Creators can keep a small record of the object, decision, content version, date and result. It helps identify uncertainty before the next upload. A particular game's rules, a payment problem and recovery of stolen account access have their own help routes. Official sources below let you check the current conditions and available path before making an appeal.
